The Sortuda

The Sortuda is the game's capsule machine. You spend a Token, the machine spins, and out comes a coloured capsule with a prize inside.

It is an honest gacha, and that means three concrete things:

  • the odds are published on the machine itself, not hidden;
  • the capsule colour you see in the animation is the colour of the prize that was already rolled. The scene does not lie to you;
  • the guarantee counter is never reset by anything except an actual gold capsule.

The five colours

Capsule Chance per spin
Blue 60%
Purple 25%
Red 11%
Silver 3.4%
Gold 0.6%

Within each colour, the prize is rolled among that drawer's options, and each option's weight is published too. Prizes are pokemon and items. The Master Ball and the special shiny are small slices inside the gold drawer, and they only come from a spin: no trade on the machine hands those two over.

The gold guarantee

Spins without gold What happens
1 to 69 The usual chance, 0.6%
70 onward The gold chance rises 2 percentage points per spin
100 Gold guaranteed

The counter only resets when you pull a gold capsule. It does not reset by leaving the game, by the day changing or by buying Tokens.

In practice: by spin 99 the chance is already around 60%, and spin 100 closes the contract.

Spin 10

Spinning ten at once costs 10 Tokens and guarantees at least one red capsule or better in the batch: the worst result of the ten is upgraded to red. The guarantee only ever improves the batch, never worsens it.

Stardust

Every spin pays Stardust, on top of the prize. No capsule comes out empty.

Capsule Stardust change
Blue 1
Purple 2
Red 5
Silver 12
Gold 30

A duplicate prize pays Stardust worth a whole Token, on top of the change.

And Stardust buys spins back:

40 Stardust = 1 Token.

The loop closes honestly: spinning makes Stardust, and Stardust eventually hands a spin back.

Getting Tokens without paying

Source How much
Daily Token 1 a day, free, just log in and claim
Surplus: evolution stones 8 stones = 1 Token
Surplus: fossils 3 fossils = 1 Token
Surplus: boosters 5 boosters = 1 Token
Stardust 40 = 1 Token

The surplus trade exists because idle stones are the game's biggest dead stock. If your bag holds thirty stones you will never use, they become spins.

Tokens are also sold in the VIP Shop, for Safira.
