Inheritance Capsule
Every pokemon of yours is born at level 1. That is good for the game, and it is painful the day you catch something excellent while sitting at level 90. The Inheritance Capsule is the honest way out: the time you invested in a pokemon is never lost, it is reallocated.
A pokemon you raised can be consumed to pass 60% of its experience to another one.
Who can donate
| Condition | Detail |
|---|---|
| Bond 30% or more | About a day and a half of hunting with it. See Bond. |
| Raised by you | A bought or received pokemon is not fuel, even with a full Bond. |
| No trainer seal | Founder and Genesis companions and raid prizes do not donate. |
| Off the team | The donor has to be in the Box. |
The receiver can be on the team or in the Box, and needs no Bond at all. Inheriting exists precisely to get someone new on their feet.
How much crosses over
- 60% of the donor's accumulated experience reaches the target.
- The target never passes the donor's level. If it is already there, there is nothing to inherit.
The cost
Each transfer costs 1 Capsule plus Dust based on the receiver's rarity:
| Receiver rarity | Dust |
|---|---|
| Common | 300 |
| Uncommon | 450 |
| Rare | 600 |
| Epic | 900 |
| Prismatic | 1,200 |
| Mythic | 1,800 |
| Astral | 2,400 |
| Divine | 3,000 |
It charges for the receiver, not the donor: what you are buying is the push on that individual, and fast-forwarding an Astral is worth more than fast-forwarding a Common.
Where Capsules come from
They are scarce on purpose: this is the pacing valve, not the main road.
| Source | How | When |
|---|---|---|
| League contracts | Field Routine (20,000 kills) and League Census (500 catches). Each pays one Capsule, once. | Unlock at trainer level 60 |
| Arena shop | 120 Arena Tokens | As soon as the Arena opens for you |
| Old box conversion | Trade in pokemon at level 40 or above that you do not intend to raise | One window per account, see below |
The Memorial
Donating consumes the donor, but does not delete it. It leaves the Box and stays listed in the Memorial, with the level and the Bond it had. Nobody deletes a pokemon you hunted with for hours.
The receiver keeps a stamp saying that those levels came from an inheritance. That is what explains, months later, why it sits at level 60 with an almost empty Bond.
The conversion window
Players from before the "every pokemon of yours starts at level 1" rule have a box full of high-level pokemon that were bought or caught already grown. Those pokemon stopped being a path to anything. The conversion acknowledges that.
For 30 days, once per account, a high-level pokemon you do not intend to raise turns into Capsules, even if it was bought grown:
| Pokemon level | Capsules |
|---|---|
| 40 to 59 | 1 |
| 60 to 79 | 2 |
| 80 to 99 | 3 |
| 100 | 4 |
- Below level 40 it gives nothing.
- Pokemon you locked, or that carry a trainer seal, are excluded.
- Converted pokemon also go to the Memorial.
- The window only appears for accounts that had something the new rule devalued. A new account never gets it.
Once it closes, the normal rule is back: only what you raised can donate.
