Pokémon Center
When someone on your team faints, you have two paths. A Revive gets them up right away and works even with the game closed, but it is an item, and items cost money. The Pokémon Center is free, and charges you in time: 2 minutes with your hunt paused.
Nurse Joy takes care of it. No queue, no fee, no paid version.
How it works
Whoever falls with no Revive, no amulet and no blessing is taken to the Center right away, on its own. You do not have to do anything for it to get there.
- The pokemon starts treatment the moment it falls. It takes 2 minutes.
- You can close the game: the clock runs on its own, counting from the fall. Come back hours later and the treatment is long finished.
- Open the Center tab and click Pick up my team.
- With the team on its feet, Back to hunting takes you to the region you came from.
That last step is yours on purpose. The Center is the path that costs no item, and its price is your attention: the team waits there until you pick it up. Anyone who does not want to stop for that uses a Revive, which gets them up on the spot and never goes through the Center at all.
You can also check the team in by hand, with the tab's button, if someone ended up down some other way.
What the Center heals
The Center gets fainted pokémon back up. That is what it is for.
Light injuries are not its job: during a hunt you get three free rest stops per cycle, and at every one of them whoever is standing comes back at full HP. Whoever is down stays down. That is why the tab only lights up when someone has fainted.
What checking in costs you
Your hunt is paused for those 2 minutes. No experience, gold, chests or catches during that time. And when you come back you restart the run from the beginning of the cycle, so the ground you had already covered toward the phase boss does not come back with you.
Center or Revive?
| Pokémon Center | Revive | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | free | 300 gold (or 1,500 for a Max Revive) |
| Time | 2 minutes, plus your click to pick them up | up right away |
| Works with the game closed | the clock runs, but the hunt stays paused | yes, the hunt keeps going |
| Experience lost to the faint | still charged | a Max Revive halves the loss for that fall |
The choice is simple. If you are playing and not in a hurry, use the Center. If you are going to sleep, or hunting with the game closed, use a Revive: it is the only path that keeps the hunt moving without you.
Fainting follows you
Whoever went down stays down. Going back to the map and entering another region does not get anyone up, and swapping your team does not either: fainting travels with the pokémon, not with the hunt. Only three things get someone off the floor: a Revive, the Center, or your whole team going down during a hunt (the run restarts with everyone standing, spending the Revives).
