Team hunting
Your whole team can join the hunt: up to 3 pokemon fighting together in the same region. More damage, more kills per hour, and everyone levels at the same time.
How to set it up
Two places do the same thing, use whichever is closer:
- Thumbnails at the top of the screen: click a team pokemon to add it to or remove it from the hunt. A numbered green ring shows who is on the field and in which position. An open slot shows a + button that takes you straight to Team / Box.
- Team / Box tab: each team pokemon shows its hunt position. The details panel has the join or leave button.
To change the order, drag one thumbnail over another (works at the top of the screen and in the Team / Box tab).
Formation matters
The order is front, middle and back:
| Position | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1st (front) | The one enemies attack. Your leader always stays here. |
| 2nd (middle) | Fights along, and takes the front if the 1st goes down |
| 3rd (back) | Fights along, and is the last one holding the line |
Enemy area moves can splash onto whoever is behind, so the middle and back also take some damage, just much less than the front.
Support moves count: a pokemon with a utility move in its kit gives its allies a damage bonus.
Experience is split
Kill exp is divided by the number of pokemon in the hunt. With 3 on the field each one gets a third, and the trio drops enemies much faster. In practice the whole team levels together: it is how you train three pokemon for the price of one.
Want to focus everything on one pokemon? Hunt with the leader alone: it keeps 100% of the exp.
Fainting and the bench
- Whoever faints in the hunt sits on the bench for 1 minute and comes back on its own by spending a Revive. The fight does not restart: the others keep battling, and whoever is behind steps up to hold the front.
- If everyone goes down and there is no Revive, the hunt stops until you act.
- Removing a pokemon from the hunt sends it to the bench: it can only come back after 60 seconds. Think before pulling someone mid fight.
The world grew with it
With teams of 3 on the field, enemies in the later regions got tougher. The ramp starts at level 18 regions and tops out at level 30 ones, where enemies have up to 3x more stamina than before.
In short: up to level 18 you can hunt solo just fine. From there on the game expects the trio, and solo hunting in those regions pays much less.
