Live Colosseum

Every night, from 9 PM to 10 PM (Brasília time), the Saffron Colosseum hosts the King of the Night. Whoever beats the King takes the throne, and the whole world gets the announcement. Whoever makes the longest win streak of the night gets the statue in front of the Colosseum.

The Colosseum Hour

Rule Value
Opens 9 PM (Brasília time)
Lasts 1 hour
Fights One every 3 minutes. If the previous one is still going, the turn moves to the next time slot

The queue only exists during the Hour. Outside of it, the Colosseum button in the city shows when it opens.

How to join

  • Trainer level 30 or higher.
  • A team of 3 pokémon: your Arena attack team (or your party, if you never picked one).
  • Legendaries and Megas are allowed too.
  • When the fight starts, your Arena attack team at that moment fights, with real strength: level, rarity, Stars and everything you trained. The King too: they defend with their current team.
  • Your team dropped below 3 pokémon after joining? Your fight becomes automatic, with the team you joined with, also at real strength. The panel warns you while you are in line.

Each account joins once per night, and that entry is free. Left the queue before fighting? You get your entry back. Still in line when the Hour ended? Your entry comes back on its own.

The queue has up to 20 spots.

The fight

The King's fight is a turn-based battle, 3 vs 3: you pick every move and every switch. Each pokémon fights with real strength: everything you trained counts. The full rules are in Colosseum: turn-based battle.

  • Whoever knocks out all 3 pokémon on the other side wins.
  • A tie goes to the King and counts as a defense.
  • A King who disappears for more than 60 seconds loses the fight.
  • When the turn-based battle cannot open (the current team of one of the two is not allowed in the Colosseum, or one of them is already in another battle), the fight is automatic: nobody picks moves, but everyone fights with the real strength of their own team, just like in the turn-based battle. Whoever has a full team fights with their current team. Whoever dropped below 3 pokémon fights with the team they joined the line with (the challenger) or the team they were crowned with (the King).

If you are not fighting, you can watch: open the Colosseum in the city and tap Watch. Everyone sees the same fight, turn by turn.

The throne

  • With no King, the Colosseum Guardian defends (Machamp, Gengar and Gyarados, at level 50). Beat the Guardian to become the first King. The Guardian is the only one who fights at a fixed level.
  • The King defends with their current team. The team they were crowned with only counts in an automatic fight, when their current team is incomplete, and it is the one on the statue. Each win counts as a defense.
  • The statue in front of the Colosseum goes to whoever makes the longest win streak of the night.
  • When someone beats the King, the throne changes as soon as the fight ends, and the whole world gets the announcement.
  • A banned King loses the throne, and it goes back to the Guardian.

Fair play

  • The King cannot join their own queue.
  • Other characters on the King's account cannot fight them.
  • Accounts linked to the King cannot fight them. On their turn, the entry is skipped and given back.

Crowd gifts

During the fight, anyone in the city can send gifts to one of the sides. Each gift fills that side's crowd bar. The bar adds up the Safira of every gift.

Gift Safira
Applause 1
Star 5
Sparkle 10
Lightning 25
Medal 100
Trophy 500
  • You can send 1, 5 or 10 at once.

  • Gifts of 25 Safira or more, or more than 1 at once, ask for confirmation.

  • Gifts open shortly before the fight and close when the fight ends on screen.

  • A gift does not change the fight. The fight is the same with or without gifts.

  • Each account can spend up to 2,000 Safira on gifts per night.

  • Safira spent on gifts does not come back.

  • A gift is only cheering: the fighter does not receive anything you send.

The crown and the Patron

  • When gifts close, the crowd crown goes to the side with the bigger bar, not to whoever won the fight. A tied bar has no crown. The crown is only decoration: it changes nothing in the fight.
  • Whoever gave the most in a fight, with at least 25 Safira, earns the Patrono do Coliseu title. A tie goes to whoever reached that amount first.
  • Whoever gave the most in the night has their name engraved on the statue in front of the Colosseum.

Fair play for gifts

  • Fighters cannot send gifts to their own fight, not even from another character on the same account.
  • Gifts from an account linked to the fighter count on the bar, but do not count for the Patron.

Finisher and celebration

In the VIP Shop, in the Finishers tab, you buy a finisher and a celebration with Safira. They are visual only: they do not change the fight.

  • The finisher shows at the last knockout, when you win by knockout. A win by forfeit, by running out of time or at the round limit has no finisher.
  • The celebration shows when you win, in any way. A tie has no celebration.
  • Everyone watching sees the same finisher and the same celebration.
  • What counts is what you had in use when the fight ended.
  • They belong to your account: they work for all your characters. One finisher and one celebration are in use at a time.
  • Buying does not put it in use by itself. After buying, press Use in the same tab. Remove undoes it.
  • The Guardian has no finisher and no celebration.
