Genesis Pack

The Genesis Pack is the game's second limited edition, younger sibling of the Founders Pack. There are 300 units, and when they run out there will be no second printing.

It lives in the VIP Shop and is bought with Safira.

Buying is not becoming Genesis

The shop sells an item: the Genesis Pack. The seal comes from using the item.

That has two practical consequences:

  • the pack is tradeable: you can buy a spare and resell it on the Market;
  • the 300 cap locks at purchase, so every pack sold can always be used or resold.

The price climbs

Pack no. Price
1st 100 Safira
100th 298 Safira
200th 498 Safira
300th 698 Safira

Every pack sold adds 2 Safira to the next one. There is no ceiling: scarcity keeps raising the price until the print run ends.

Status

  • Exclusive outfit: Origin King for male trainers, Origin Queen for female trainers.
  • Permanent Genesis seal on your profile: green name and the Genesis title, visible to everyone.
  • Companion with a green aura, untradeable.

The companion

The Genesis Case opens a roulette and rolls one species out of seven:

Region Species
Sinnoh Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup
Unova Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott
Special Eevee

The pool differs from the founder one (gen 1 to 3 plus Pikachu) on purpose: each edition has its own face.

It is born like this:

  • level 5, and its Bond counts as caught by you (those five levels are a gift, not a debt);
  • high IVs: none below 25 out of 31;
  • a green aura around the sprite, which is the pack's exclusive look (it is not shiny);
  • untradeable: it never goes to the Market or to a trade.

Rarity is a roll

The companion's rarity is rolled inside the case, and it multiplies the seal:

Rarity Chance Total power
Common 68.7% ×1.42
Uncommon 17.2% ×1.46
Rare 8.6% ×1.51
Epic 3.4% ×1.56
Prismatic 1.0% ×1.63
Mythic 0.7% ×1.72
Astral 0.3% ×1.82

Divine is out, as it is in the wild: it only comes from Laboratory fusion.

Across a print run of 300 packs that works out to roughly 200 Commons, 50 Uncommons, 25 Rares, 10 Epics, 3 Prismatics, 2 Mythics and 1 Astral.

Where the Genesis seal sits

Seal Base power
Founder ×1.50
Shiny ×1.45
Genesis ×1.42

All three multiply rarity instead of replacing it. The founder seal is still the strongest pack; Genesis sits one step below shiny.

What the companion cannot do

Because it is untradeable and because of its exclusive look:

  • it does not retire in the Hall of Veterans, since it would trade a green aura for an ordinary plaque with no undo;
  • it does not donate in an Inheritance Capsule and does not convert into Capsules;
  • it cannot be released or fused.

It can ascend at the Altar, as long as you raise it to level 100.
