Player shops
Three of Saffron's 29 deeds are commercial: two Ground Shops and one Upstairs Shop. Buying one makes you a real shopkeeper: you get a counter, an attendant, a shelf and a storefront inside the city.
A shop costs more than a mansion on purpose. It is the only property that earns income.
The door is always open
Shops do not lock. Everyone walks in, always. A shop with a locked door sells nothing, so it is the one property with no access control.
The basics counter
The counter sells what the official Shop sells: balls, potions and revives. Nothing beyond that (the Master Ball is still drop-only).
The pricing rule is simple and closed:
- the ceiling is the official Shop's price. You never charge more than it does;
- you have up to 15% of margin to negotiate downwards;
- selling at the ceiling, you pocket the full margin; giving up part of it, the item comes out cheaper than the official Shop.
That is how your shop becomes attractive: the buyer saves, and you profit on the difference.
The shelf
The shelf is your curated storefront: the items and pokemon you chose to list in there.
| Ground Shop | Upstairs Shop | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting slots | 8 | 6 |
| Cap with prestige | 20 | 16 |
Every 25,000 in value sold opens +1 slot, up to your tier's cap.
The shelf's sale fee is 2%, well below the Market's, and there is no fee to list. That difference is the entire argument for buying the deed.
Remote buyers pay a 2% delivery, and it goes to you, the owner, not to the game.
Buy orders
The shop accepts up to 6 active buy orders: "I buy X for Y", right at your counter.
The attendant advertises
Your shop's NPC can shout what you are selling in the city chat. It respects a 60 minute gap between shouts, so the city does not turn into an auction floor.
A shop is not a warehouse
A commercial lot is a counter, not storage. Shops have no residents, no House Incubator, no School slot and take no chest pieces.
The tax
Shops pay the city's highest tax: 150 Safira a month for a Ground Shop, 100 for an Upstairs Shop. Warning, grace and repossession rules are the same as for houses. See Houses.
