City

The City is the part of the game where you are not hunting. You walk your trainer around the real map of Saffron, see other players moving at the same time, chat, shop, duel and enter your own house.

Your hunt does not stop while you are in the city. Your pokemon keep earning out there.

Getting around

Click a spot on the ground to walk to it, or use the arrow keys. Your trainer walks in eight directions and respects walls, doors and stairs, exactly like the original game's map.

The minimap in the corner shows where you are, and your house is marked on it once you own one.

Your pokemon follows you

Your leader walks behind you through the city, stepping on the trail you just made. It does not cross walls and does not push anyone: it is your shadow. Change floors and it reappears behind you.

A pokemon with a skin walks in all four directions using the skin's art.

Who you meet

Where What is there
Pokémon Center Nurse Joy, to heal whoever fainted. See Pokémon Center.
Shops Counters with an attendant. Some are player shops, with their own shelf. See Player shops.
Houses 26 houses and 3 shops, all owned by players. See Houses.
Other trainers Everyone in the city at that moment, actually walking.

Talking

City chat is proximity based: you speak and whoever is nearby reads it, in a bubble above your trainer. It is not the global chat. Moderation rules are the same. See Clans, friends and chat.

Duelling

You can challenge another trainer in the city to a 3v3 fight on the spot, for gold or Safira. The crowd can bet on it. See Duels and betting.

Sleeping

Beds in city houses restore your Stamina, the rested-hunt bonus. Sleeping does not interrupt the hunt. See Stamina and beds.

Living there

Owning a house gives you your own bed, room to decorate, residents (pokemon walking loose inside), a House Incubator and +1 School slot. See Houses.
